Forum for Physicians from Emerging Economic Regions 2013 to take place on 6th December during ASH

This year´s iCMLf Forum for Physicians from Emerging Economic Regions will be held from 4-6pm on December 6th during the American Society of Hematology meeting (ASH) in New Orleans. The meeting provides a unique opportunity for physicians from these regions to share and discuss best practice in a resource limited setting.

This iCMLf Forum, held annually, is a partnership project between the iCMLf and the MAX Foundation. The aim of the meeting is to recognise and to share the work and initiatives of physicians in emerging economic regions, where resources are often limited. For this reason the meeting showcases solution focused presentations from iCMLf award-winning physicians and also features practical advice, discussions and networking with iCMLf Directors.

In preparation for the forum the iCMLf invited physicians from emerging economic regions to submit abstracts outlining the successful implementation of projects that improved their management of CML. The iCMLf is delighted to have received 13 abstracts submitted from 11 different countries representing a broad range of topics.

The three abstracts selected for oral presentation at the iCMLf Forum are from Chile, China and Ghana. Each presented abstract will be awarded an iCMLf grant of up to US$5,000.
