Associate Professor Katia Pagnano

Katia Pagnano is hematologist and researcher and at Centro de Hematologia e Hemoterapia at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil. She serves as a senior consultant in hematology and coordinates leukemia research and clinical trials at UNICAMP’s Hematology Department. She is associate professor at the University of Campinas and Pontificia Universidade Católica de Campinas. She is Coordinator of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Committee at Associação Brasileira de Hematologia, Hemoterapia e Terapia Celular (ABHH) and vice-president of the Italian-Brazilian Hematology Association (AIBE).

Dr Pagnano obtained her medical degree from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and conducted her residency and fellowship at UNICAMP and a split fellowship in Dr. Gewirtz’s lab at the University of Pennsylvania.

Her research emphasises hematological malignancies, particularly CML and molecular monitoring and she is committed to improving outcomes for CML patients across Latin America and expanding access to molecular diagnostics.

Katia Pagnano has published around 260 scientific papers and actively participates in international collaborations in hematology.
