Didi Jasmin

Since 2021, following retirement from a long career in the international hematology community, Didi Jasmin has served EUROCORD as Treasurer and Board Member and provides translation and editorial support for the Association’s projects and scientific publications.

From 1989 to 2021, Didi was Executive Director and a member of the Executive Committee of the European School of Haematology (ESH), a non-profit organization for continuing education based at Saint-Louis Hospital in Paris. In these roles, she led the Executive Office and was actively involved in strategic planning for ESH, working closely with the ESH President and other Executive Committee members. Didi was responsible for fundraising and financial management across all ESH projects. She initiated and oversaw the development of numerous multi-year international conferences and workshops, pan-European networks, and other international projects in education and research – many in the framework of public-private collaborations.  She served as lead author on European Commission funding applications and oversaw the implementation of many scientific projects under several successive EU Framework Programs. She also led the editorial coordination of major publications, notably the ESH-EBMT Handbook on Blood and Marrow Transplantation (five editions, with over 150,000 copies distributed worldwide).

Beginning in 1990, Didi contributed to the founding and early organization of the European Hematology Association (EHA). From 2001 to 2005 she served as the inaugural Chair of the EHA Education Committee and remained a committee member until 2009. During her tenure as Chair the Committee developed and funded three major EU-supported projects, each led by one or two different committee members:

  • EBAH: The European Board for Accreditation and quality control of continuing education in hematology.
  • The European Hematology Curriculum: Designed to harmonize training across Europe and to promote mobility and employability of European hematologists.
  • EHATol: An interactive digital platform for diagnostics in hematology.

Today, in addition to serving Eurocord, Didi sits on the Scientific Advisory Committee of the International Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Foundation (iCMLf). She also provides advice and editorial support for scientific projects and publications in hematology and other related medical fields.
