He holds a Senior Professorship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology as the former Head of the Div. of Pediatric Hemato-Oncology & Stem Cell Transplantation at Technical University, Childrens‘ Hospital, in Dresden, Germany. He obtained his academic degrees (Dipl.-Chem.) in Organic Chemistry at the University of Münster and in Human Medicine at the University of Kiel, Germany.
