New iCMLf Prize to recognize work in the emerging regions: nominate now

March 2015 - The iCMLf is very pleased to announce a new prize recognizing outstanding contributions to overcome the challenge of treatingCML with limited resources. The Emerging Regions Support and Partnership (ERSAP) Prize will be awarded each year to an individual, or organisation that has made outstanding contributions to the treatment of CML in the emerging economic regions. 

Recipients of the award will receive the iCMLf ERSAP medal, from the iCMLf Chair, at the annual John Goldman International CML Meeting. Prize winners will be invited to give a keynote lecture at the meeting.

 

The Prize


Named after the iCMLf’s primary program, the ERSAP Prize will be awarded each year to an individual, or organisation that has made outstanding contributions to the treatment of CML in the emerging economic regions.

Recipients of the award will receive the iCMLf ERSAP medal, from the iCMLf Chair, at the annual John Goldman International CML Meeting. Prize winners will be invited to give a keynote lecture at the meeting. All meeting, travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the Foundation.

 

Nomination and Selection Criteria

  • Nominations are sought from throughout the iCMLf membership and CML community
  • Nominations should reflect the award premise of ‘outstanding contributions to enhancing CML treatment in the emerging regions’
  • Nominations can be for individuals (physicians, scientists, researchers, patient advocates), or organisations that have made a significant impact
  • Nominations could be made to recognize research in underserved areas or focused at optimizing outcomes with limited resources, establishing or changing clinical practice in these areas to overcome obstacles, increasing access to treatment/monitoring, advocacy, education, or other important contributions that foster the mission of the iCMLf to improve the outcome of patients around the world. Work could be at an international, regional, or local level
  • Nominations should include:
        1. The full name of the candidate/organisation, their institution/affiliation
        2. A brief letter (500-800 words) outlining the reason for the nomination
        3. If appropriate, a clear description of the program/work being submitted for recognition
        4. Supporting material, such as manuscripts, videos, CDs, etc. would be a useful addition to the nomination package
  • Self nominations are accepted
  • Previous ERSAP iCMLf Prize winners will not be eligible for a second nomination and award.

The review process - 2015

  1. March - nominations sought from the CML community
  2. April– nominated candidates will be considered by the iCMLf Directors and Scientific Advisory Committee
  3. May 1st – The iCMLf ERSAP Prize winner is announced
  4. October - The iCMLf ERSAP Prize is presented

In 2016 and beyond nominations for the Rowley, Goldman and ERSAP Prizes will be sought in January each year with the winners announced in February.
