CML is a rare cancer of the white blood cells. It is a form of leukemia characterized by the increased and unregulated growth of myeloid cells in the bone marrow and the accumulation of these cells in the blood. With the average age of diagnosis of CML being around 60 in western countries, CML in children is considered an ultra-rare condition.
